As if on cue, a courier appeared at the entrance to my cubicle. I signed for the package and then hurried to the bathroom so I could open it in private, per Nick’s instructions. I was pleased to find the bathroom empty. I slipped into the nearest stall and I pulled Nick’s gift from the box.

I was stunned at what I found:
